These marvelous photographs could have been part of a series family portraits or even business portaits. On the contrary, these are all mugshots of criminals taken by the Sydney Police Department in the 1920s. Thieves, dope users, counterfeiters, drug traders, sexual offenders and the occasional murders, they are all there. It's remarkable how unique and well composed all of the crime offenders are portrayed. Judge for yourself.
