A while ago Menno from Tenue de Nîmes walked in and showed us a pair of vintage Red Wing boots that made us go totally nuts. It was a pair of Irish Setter boots in the ridiculous large size of US15, can you imagine? It's not just the size that is exciting, every pair of vintage Irish Setter boot is unique, and therefore we love to collect these. They all have their own character and now and then Red Wing applied these little changes to details, which makes every pair of Irish Setters different. With the help of the Japanese 2nd Red Wing Book, combined with our own knowledge, we managed to somehow date these boots to a certain period. They were probably made somewhere between 1985, that's when the Red Wing cloth label with the dark-red wing was first introduced, and 1990, the year when Red Wing started using the 2nd Oro-Russet leather, which was of a deep red color. Enjoy the photo's of these Giant's Setters.
