The Red Wing 100th Anniversary Shoe

We start the week with a vintage pair of Red Wing Shoes. A special pair, released for the 100th anniversary of Red Wing back in 2005. They look a lot like the Gentlemen Traveller Beckman series (9011, 9013 and the 9014) but they are a bit different. The 100th anniversary series are made with leather from Horween. Horween is one of the oldest tanneries of the United States running since 1905, the same year Red Wing Shoes started making their amazing boots. As you can see the Horween leather ages faster then the normal leather from H. B. Foot tannery. Another difference is that they have a softer insole. Normally the leather insole is made of a blank rigid leather which you have to break in. These boots are acid-etched with the special 100th anniversary logo. (Thanks to Milco for sharing his vintage collection again)
