Back in 2017, we already hinted towards this very special Red Wing Shoe Store Exclusive release. But its journey all the way from Japan took a little longer than usual. The style that we are talking about may be one of the most exclusive Red Wing boots yet. Only 90 pairs have been made and the Red Wing Shoe Company has confirmed there will be no rerelease. We are talking about the Red Wing 9851 Canoe Moc. But you probably already knew that!
The 9851 Canoe Moc is quite a mysterious boot. Being part of the Irish Setter family, it draws from the historic 888 style. Until now, the Canoe Moc could only be found in Japan. But even in Japan was it mysterious. The style is unique and individual. The 9851 Canoe Moc is truly unlike any other Red Wing boot ever produced. That's why we like it so much! But it is still very much a Red Wing boot. The style embodies everything that Red Wing stands for: quality, craftsmanship and heritage!
Only 90 pairs have been made, all in the gorgeous Red Wing Oro Russet Portage leather. The boots come with full leather lining, extra thick leather laces, speedy speed-hooks and a Goodyear-welted construction. Some amazing craftsmanship went into the production of these boots. Everyone’s eyes are usually immediately drawn to the layered design and the toe-construction that give the boot their unconventional appeal.
With our special releases, we usually advise you not to wait too long with getting yourself a pair. But this time we cannot stress this enough. Once these 90 pairs are gone, there will be no other way to get them. The boots are available as of today. So, visit us at the Red Wing Shoe Store Amsterdam in the Reestraat, Amsterdam, or head out to the online store. You can also give us a call and reserve a pair, if you don't have enough time to drop by the store any time soon!
