Special two-tone release & Red Wing Amsterdam's 8 year anniversary

It has officially been 8 years since the Red Wing Shoe Store Amsterdam opened its doors for the first time. What a journey it has been! The amount of Red Wing boots that have been passed through our store to customers across the world is dizzying to say the least. RWSA opened because of a passion for quality, durability and heritage; everything that the Red Wing Shoe Company stands for. That same passion is what drives us today. It is also the reason why we could not be more excited to tell you about another special release. While we tend to say this at every new release, this time it is truer than ever.. the style that we are talking about is unlike anything you have seen before! It's the 8819 Moc Toe in Oro Russet Portage and Oro Russet Abilene. And no this is not a joke! It actually features two leather types at once... if that is not "unlike anything you have seen before!", we don't know what is.

Until now, you could only get a Moc Toe in one type of leather, but with the two-tone 8819 Moc Toe you can finally get the best of both worlds!

Rough-In or Rough-Out? Now you can get the best of both worlds! This one-of-a-kind Moc Toe has a two-tone design, with a smooth leather bottom and a rough-out upper. The rough-out leather was created using a special reverse-suede technique. While most tanneries split their leather, Red Wing's own tannery simply turns it inside-out. This way you avoid weakening the hide. But as you probably know, Red Wing is also well-known for its smooth finish leather, which is used on some of it's finest styles like the Beckman. Until now, you could only get a Moc Toe in one type of leather, but with the two-tone 8819 Moc Toe you can finally get the best of both worlds!

And no this is not a joke! It actually features two leather types at once... if that is not "unlike anything you have seen before!", we don't know what is.

From leather laces to an exclusive Red Wing box: A special pair of boots There is more to this new Red Wing style, though. Each pair comes with a set of Oro Russet leather laces. They are 80" inches long, so you can wear them around your ankle or cut them short. Whatever way you'd like! The boots also come in an special old-school Red Wing box. All in all, the 8819 Moc Toe is a very special pair of Red Wing boots. It stands out from the crowd even more than his brothers do. Wear them with a pair of selvedge jeans, a white T-shirt and a matching Red Wing belt, you'll be good to go!

As symbol of what the Red Wing Shoe Company stands for over 8 years, the Red Wing Shoe Store Amsterdam has been driven by a passion for quality, durability and heritage. There could not be a more appropriate release planned for this day than the 8819 Moc Toe. Nothing says 'Red Wing' like a Moc Toe. The style was first developed in the 1950s for workers of all sorts, from hunters to farmers. The crescent-shaped stitching on the toe was inspired by the moccasin shoes originally worn by the Algonquin American-Indians. And to this day, they have been handmade in the USA. It is not yet known whether there will be a rerun of the boot or not, so we advice you to be quick about ordering a pair if you already decided that you want to get them. P.S. Friday July 20th, we will be having our 8-year anniversary party and everyone is invited to join us. Feel free to drop by for a drink and a bite, and maybe even to checkout the 8819 Moc Toe in real-life. See you tomorrow evening!
