Last week we had Paul in the store, who purchased his pair of 8113 Iron Rangers Hawthorne Mule two years ago in the store and managed to totally destroy them in the meantime while wearing them daily at his work in his flower studio. Paul entered the store saying he wanted a new pair, because these were totally finished. We couldn't have agreed more, we never came across anything like this, this is next level Red Wing wear. When I asked him whether he had ever maintained or cleaned the shoes, I should've already expected a negative answer. He had the heels replaced with a local cobbler a few times, but never resoled the outersole entirely, something you can tell from the front where the sole is totally worn off. He even managed to tear the leather at both the sides of the shoes, just behind the toe-cap. Besides note one of the speedhooks that is pulled off, which is why he never used them anymore.
So if you don't want your Iron Rangers to be distressed like this, at least give them a cleanup once every 4 months. Please enjoy some of the wonderful shots above, taken by our photographer Benjamin.
